Welcoming in October is accompanied with the beloved season of many – fall.*  Best known for its “not too hot” and “not too cold” days, autumn can be a celebration of pumpkins, candy corn, bonfires, and something for everyone.

Particularly if you live in the middle latitude of the United States, mornings regularly require an extra layer of clothing and by the time you head back in your car in the afternoon, you remove your layer of additional warmth and turn on your A/C.

Luckily, some retailers understand our need to change our minds, so they accept gift cards to each other’s stores.  This way if you or I find an adorable jacket, scarf, or boots at Sears we can use a discounted Sears gift card to get the purchase for less than face value.  But, then if we do not spend the entire balance on the gift card, we can easily go to Kmart or Lands’ End to buy collared shirts and athletic apparel and the same gift card will work as tender in their system. (You can also use a discounted Kmart gift card at Lands’ End and Sears; and a Lands’ End discounted gift card at Sears and Kmart.)
