Until this week I would have been one of the first to admit that I haven’t had good luck at finding unbelievable prices at DSW.  I always found cute styles, but not cute prices, if you will.

How to Find the Best Prices at DSW.com

At DSW.com you can find bargain shoes for your feet by using the left menu bar.  I found searching by type (flat, boot, wedding) and price (under $100, under $50, under $20) to be the easiest way to find the styles and prices I wanted.

How to Find the Best Deals at DSW Stores

When shopping at DSW this week, I was on a mission to find the best bargain and not spend more than my gift card value.  To keep my hunt practical, I limited my browsing to only flats and boots.  Because the clearance shoes are in the back of the store, I walked through flats to get an idea of what my options were.  To my surprise, my DSW store put some super (50% off!) discounted shoes among their regular shoe sections as well as in the clearance section.  (Maybe a space issue?)  I found these cute Mix No. 6 Navy Stride Flats for 50% off $34.94! (DSW.com has them for $34.95, marked down from $45.00)

Since I found such a killer deal on my shoes, I started browsing the handbag area and found this silver purse, which is a nice enhancement to my wardrobe marked down from $50 to $29.95.  That sounded good to me!

When I got to the register I explained to the DSW employee that my birthday (Happy Birthday to all you January babies!) was earlier this month but I hadn’t yet received my DSW Rewards coupon.  The DSW employee asked her manager if they could do anything and sure enough I got an extra $5 off which meant I could add these fun red/pink/black heart socks at no extra cost!

In the end, my $50 gift card was cashed in for a pair of Mix No. 6 Navy Flats, silver purse, and socks and I only spent $49.87.  I’m not one that likes a few cents on a gift card, so I asked the employee to give her next customer 13-cents left on my gift card.
