Second-guessing a purchase, just moments after scribbling your name with the fancy digital pen? All of us have wrestled with it at one time or another.

You went out to buy a few things. You even set a time limit so you would stay focused on the shopping at hand. But… somehow you were enticed to bring home a little (well, really a big) something extra. After a good night’s rest (if you could stomach the regret you felt walking in the front door and realizing you really did not need to spend the extra amount) you try to justify how many times you’ll wear those sexy jeans or how much you’ll enjoy the clear picture on that giant t.v. screen. Your daily commute and errand running catch you rethinking how you don’t have the cash to cover the bill.

I refuse to believe that life is full of allowing my shoulders and back to get tense over impulse shopping on a regular basis. By incorporating Plastic Jungle into my family’s shopping habits, we have been able to nip nail biting, sweat, and regret associated with shopping in the heat of the moment.

Okay, so it takes a little bit of planning and self-control, but you would be surprised at the peace of mind and extra cash found. We started a new phrase in our family termed “planned purchases.” If we weren’t planning to buy it, we don’t. (Unless we’re willing to use our own spending money to pay cash on the spot.) If we really want something, we write it down on our “hunt list” and then start researching which store to buy it from. Once discount gift cards are available for that store on Plastic Jungle, we place our order and then search for a store coupon to prepare our attack.

The result? Exactly what we wanted for less than the price we could have originally paid.
