Target is now offering gift cards that will allow you to purchase applications, virtual goods and other enhancements for social games on Facebook. The first brick-and-mortar store to offer Facebook gift cards, Target will be setting a new standard for retailers. You can find these new gift cards here on the Target website.

“With social gaming becoming increasingly popular, Facebook Credits gift cards provide an easy and convenient option for Target guests to purchase virtual goods,” Mark Schindele, Target Corp.’s senior vice president of merchandising, said in a statement.

The Facebook gift cards will allow players to purchase applications and other items for use with the games you play. The gift cards will be sold in increments of $15, $25 and $50 and are accepted for Zynga’s FarmVille and Mafia Wars; CrowdStar’s Happy Aquarium and Playdom’s City of Wonder.
