Plastic Jungle Cash In Now Policy (for Sellers)

This Cash In Now Policy is incorporated into, and made a part of, the Plastic Jungle Terms of Use, and capitalized terms used and not defined in this policy have the meaning given to them in the Terms.

  1. General.

    Plastic Jungle provides a platform that allows registered users who want to liquidate certain gift cards with Plastic Jungle ("Sellers") to do so through our Cash In Now program. This is quick and easy, and usually at a very favorable rate. We will mark up this price as profit and to cover processing costs, then resell these cards in the marketplace. In order for us to match your submission and pay you for your cards, we ask that you use our Exclusive Shipping Partner, and in all cases include the printed receipt provided at the end of your transaction with your shipment. Without doing one or both, we cannot process your submission and will return the package to you.   2. Accepted Gift Cards and Cash In Now Calculator.

    The Cash In Now program is only available for cards issued by certain merchants, and we may change the list at any time, based on the market and our discretion. Each time you wish to sell us a card, you will need to verify that Plastic Jungle is currently accepting the card you would like to sell through our Cash In Now program, by using the Cash In Now Calculator. You may contact our Customer Service department if you have a card you want to sell that is not listed in our Cash In Now Calculator. Further, we only accept plastic gift cards with a stored value of $25 or greater. You can also use our Cash In Now Calculator to determine how much, if anything, we are currently pay for specific gift cards. Payment rates are sometimes expressed as a percentage of the card balance.

  3. Right of Acceptance.

    In order to ensure the integrity of the Plastic Jungle Marketplace, we reserve the right to not accept any card or cards that we believe, in our sole discretion, may be fraudulent or stolen, or which may have come from an unauthorized source, or which otherwise may pose a financial risk to us, our users, or merchants and gift card issuers. Generally, we will return cards we elect not to accept within seven (7) business days of receipt. Sending a card or cards to Plastic Jungle in no way obligates us to accept ownership of such card or cards.

  4. Verification Process.

    After you have sent a gift card to us, we will verify it to ensure that it meets our requirements, and that the current value matches the value you reported to us. If we successfully verify the card and accept it for purchase, we will send you a check, or other form of payment you and we agree to, for the listed percentage as reported by the Cash In Now Calculator within 2 business days of our verification and acceptance of your card.

  5. Unverified Cards.

    If we are not able to verify your card, either because it is not from a merchant whose cards we accept, it does not have the minimum required stored value, it does not match the information you reported to us, or we elect not to accept the card for purchase, we will take the following steps:

  6. Wrong Value.

    If the card has a different value on it than what you reported, but carries a stored value of greater than $25, we reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to: (i) purchase the card based on the listed percentage reported by the Cash In Now Calculator, (ii) contact you regarding the discrepancy and offer you the choice of continuing with the sale or having the card returned to you, or (iii) return the card to you.

    • Below Minimum Value. If the card is issued by a retailer that is listed on our Cash In Now Calculator, but carries a stored value of less than $25, we will notify you, and we reserve the right, in our sole discretion (i) liquidate the gift card at the standard rates, and assess a $2.25 handling fee, provided that such a transaction would result in a positive net payment amount to you, (ii) handle or dispose of the card according to our standard policies, or (iii) return the card to you.
    • Not an Accepted Retailer. If the card is issued by a retailer that is not listed on our Cash In Now Calculator, we reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to: (i) contact you with an offer of what we will pay, and offer you the choice of continuing with the sale or having the card returned to you, (ii) handle or dispose of the card according to our standard policies, or (iii) return the card to you.
    • Return Fees. In the event that you elect to have us return any unverified card to you, we will deduct any applicable shipping and handling costs from any amounts owed to you, if any, from your sale of other cards submitted via Cash In Now.
  7. Other Returns.

    We reserve the right in our sole discretion to decline to purchase any gift card at any time, for any or no reason. If we decline to purchase your card for any reason other than as described above, we will return it to you, and no shipping and handling fees will be charged.

  8. Required Shipping.

    We guarantee all transactions shipped with our Exclusive Shipping Partner. Please see the Plastic Jungle Guarantee for details. In order to qualify for the Guarantee, you must ship gift cards to us using our Exclusive Shipping Partner.

  9. Donating Gift Cards and Proceeds.

    You may choose to donate all or a portion of the proceeds of your Cash In Now transaction, or to donate the gift card itself, to one of the many nonprofit organizations listed on the Plastic Jungle Service. Acting on the benefiting nonprofit's behalf, Plastic Jungle will issue to you by email factual documentation regarding the transaction, including the name of the organization, the nature of your donation, and the nature of the amounts remitted to the organization, that you may use in connection with determining the tax status of the transaction. Plastic Jungle makes no representations or warranties regarding the tax-deductable status of any particular transaction, and you should consult with an independent tax professional to determine the tax treatment of the transaction.
