Selling Overview

Cash in your unwanted gift cards for up to 92% of the verified balance. You can also exchange your unredeemed or partially used gift cards for purchasing power at stores like Amazon.com, or donate them for the benefit of your favorite nonprofit organization. We pay for shipping, and all transactions are guaranteed!

• To get started, click the Sell Gift Cards link at the top of any page on PlasticJungle.com.
• Enter the merchant who issued the gift card and the balance on the card. If you're not sure how much is on your card, just take a guess. We verify all gift card balances upon receipt. Note, your card will now appear in the Gift Cards I Own tab in your Plastic Jungle account.
• Then, click the See Offers button. On the next screen, we will make you a cash offer for your gift card. You may also see one or more alternatives at a greater value (e.g. the option to receive an Amazon.com Gift Card* in exchange for your card).
• Once you select an offer, you will be prompted to log in (or create a Plastic Jungle account if you have not already done so).
• On the next screen, you will be asked to enter the gift card number and PIN (typically located on the back of your gift card, sometimes hidden behind a metallic coding which you will need to scratch off with a penny or other smooth-edged coin).
• Before you complete your transaction, you will have the opportunity to donate part or all of your sale proceeds to the charity of your choice. If you elect to do so, you will receive a receipt for your tax-deductible contribution.
• Once you complete your transaction, we will provide you with a prepaid (shipping is on us!) USPS mailing label for your convenience. Simply attach it to an envelope, insert your gift card along with your sale receipt, and drop the package in the mail. If you're mailing high value gift cards (or lots of them), we suggest you purchase insurance to ensure your gift cards arrive safely. Plastic Jungle is not responsible for a gift card until we receive it.
• When we receive your gift card, we will verify its balance and then send you payment within two business days. If you selected the cash offer, we will mail you a check (it should arrive within another 5-7 business days). If you selected to receive an Amazon.com Gift Card*, we will email you the claim code.

Frequently Asked Questions

• The merchant for my gift card isn't accepted. Why not? And what do I do?
  We accept as many gift cards as we possibly can on PlasticJungle.com; however, there are some brands we do not currently accept (for example, we are unable to efficiently verify balances on some gift cards). We add new merchants all the time, so please check back. You can also create an alert to be notified when we add the merchant by clicking the Don't see your merchant? link in the Sell Your Gift Card flow (it's located near the Enter your Gift Card Merchant field).
• How can I determine my gift card balance?
  Typically, a merchant will display a phone number or website address you can use to inquire about your gift card balance. You can also visit the merchant's store and ask one of their customer service representatives to check for you. But, like we said, feel free to go with your gut and take a guess. We verify all gift card balances upon receipt.
• My card has less than $25 (or greater than $9500) remaining on it. Why won't you accept it? When we receive your gift card, we must verify its balance and process it through our system. We also cover shipping from you to us, as well as from us to whoever ultimately buys the card. So, in order to cover these costs and pass along a meaningful discount to our customers, we can only purchase cards with balances of at least $25 at this time.

  We also cannot take gift cards with a balance greater than $9500 in order to maintain a safe and trusted marketplace.

• How do you determine what offer to make for my gift card?
  The Plastic Jungle team wants to be the best solution for your unwanted gift cards, so they don't go to waste in your sock drawer. We make you the best offer we can, based on a variety of factors including brand popularity, seasonality, and denomination.
• Who pays for shipping?
  We do!
• Can I sell more than one gift card at a time? Yes. If you find yourself with more than 10 unwanted gift cards to sell, we want to make it easy for you to please Contact Us.
• I want to give part of my proceeds to charity, but my favorite organization isn't listed. Will you add it?
